With our economy as bad as it is now, environment thinking and “going green” are on everyone’s minds and the tops of their to- do lists. But practicing those three R’s isn’t always as easy as it seems. My family is a family of four. We often don’t remember to throw away our regular trash, so we could never remember to sort things for recycling. We do not recycle, but we still care about the environment. We cut back on our use of disopable water bottles, and we turn off lights whenever they are not in use.
One way to practice the three R’s is Earth hour. On Saturday, March 28th from 8:30- 9:30pm, The World Wildlife Foundation is asking you to turn off your lights and electronics. This is supposed to show you are supporting “going green”. I am not certain if my family is going to support or not, but in honor of Earth Hour I am not going to be on my computer checking email or blogging that hour. (ouch!) I will also change my theme for that hour to a green theme. If you live in a different time zone, you would see when our Earth Hour was happening.

Hi, Abbey!
I really liked your blog! Powerful. 🙂 I totally agree with the whole “not-on-the-computer” thing. Lets go, green!
It is kind of hard to go through and sort the recycling, isn’t it. But it is very good for the Earth. I’m glad that there are other people in the world who care!
I think that we would enjoy talking together, and in case you want to visit my blog, the address is http://mc2cougar.edublogs.org/. Keep on writing! Go clean Earth! 🙂
